I've bought a syncstation off of e-bay to debrand my K700i
The listing and details on the unit say it's a dss-25, but when I connected it to my PC it's come up dss-20
I've tried to install the syncstation, but the pc says it's missing a driver.
I went onto SE's website and downloaded the only dss-20 driver I could find (said it was for the 800, but I thought I'd try it)
So far nothing, anyone got any ideas?
If there's nothing I can do I'm just gonna return it.

did the same yesterday - Windoze recognises DSS-25 as DSS-20
Trick is to download 800 software from SE, unzip and remember where you put it, unplug DSS-25, run ftdiunin.exe (SE software removes previous drivers), re-boot PC and when boted plug in DSS-25. When asked for the drivers dont do automatic - point to the directory containing unzipped SE drivers. Should be sorted.
Flashed my K500 today and works fine
Interestingly - SE recommend in an email to me not to upgrade from their website if your phone is working OK - so why provide the website??? Doohhh

Yes, the drivers are meant for P800/900 because if you notice, the DSS-25 has a holder in the case for the Stylus. |

did you manage to unbrand your k700?
I would like to remove orange customisation from K500 but 1) dont know what might happen 2) will it help the restore the shortcuts that Orange appear to have disabled??? 3) Any ideas on unlocking the MP3 tunes I've downloaded from Orange site - they are locked in phone even though I paid for them. Arrgh.
glad to hear DSS-25 is OK - Ive seen a few comments from buyers on Ebay about DSS-25 being recognised as a DSS-20. Good old Microsoft...
