Hi
I'm hoping someone can help, i want to update my firmware on my k700i and have heard that this can be done by using a DSS-25 or DSS-20.
Is this true, if so which is the best one to go for, and how much should i look at paying for such a device.
Thanks
Dave

Either of the two will work. DSS-20 is much cheaper. I don't know how much it is in your place but it should be around US$25.
There's a lot of threads discussing this, just do a quick search.
resistance is futile. |

The dss25 will only be recognised as a dss20 when connected to a compu. The diff is purely cosmetic.

Thanks for all your comments i found DSS-25 which i think is cheap.
The only problem is a mate at work told me today that because i'm on vodaphone uk i will not be able to update my firmware from the sony ericsson website even if a have a DSS-25.
Is this true???

you will have to take the phone to a service centre to have the software flashed. It won't remove vodafone customisations, but will update you to the latest firmware. |
