I KNOW what "bluesnarfing" is and I realise that a limited number of phones are affected, but I was quite surprised to learn that my Z1010 is one of those phones!
Just a moment ago, I read an article on bluejackq (http://www.bluejackq.com) that stated my Z1010 was one of the affected phones!
Quite scary, especially since my phone is filled with HIGHLY sensitive industry phone numbers and data...
My phone is no longer "discoverable."

"Bluesnarfing" is old news...
Using certain PC software, the offender can infiltrate the victim's phone or device, extracting content as he or she sees fit!
It is a fault in the bluetooth security on a limited number of phones/devices, and is exceptionally rare in new phones/devices.
Apparently the PC software required is not "in the wild" (available to the public), although rumors on the grapevine suggest otherwise...

I dont take care of, however my bt is always off, the one who hack my fone via bt can be happy with the contacts, pix etc

My z1010 has a more advanced version of bluetooth than my p900 and i use bluetooth a lot. You have to accept or allow someone to access your phone. I used to get hacking attempts a lot when out and about with my p900; but if i didnt accept the intrusion then on problem!
Ive certainly had no attempts in the last 6 months on my z1010 due to its enhanced bluetooth features.

Thats old news from the bluejackQ website, they're never very up to date.

"bluesnarfing" doesn't require the victim to give the attacker authorization, that's why it's a security risk!
What's really disappointing is that most of the venerable devices are /// and Sony Ericsson phones... A little sad considering /// was the one that envisioned and pioneered bluetooth!
