Sonyericsson at CTIA were showing off the packaging for the W800 i for one think its a fantastic idea to promote a music phone in this style/design of packaging...errm just makes it looks like a walkman?  Do you think it should have been packaged in the usual box way or is this way better?..niot that it really matters but just you know.

looks like theyve final found a use for the red pillar boxes. joking aside it looks ok nice change from the usual boxes all the companies use |

I can already see these being used as money boxes or to put other bits and bobs in.  ..hang on my mum needs a spaghetti holder!

The V3 alloy box is as classy as the phone.
A bit tricky to open but at least it makes it impossible for the lid to slide open causing your brand new phone dropping down on the tarmac on the way home from the shop.
(I did that once with a  phone and thought my hart scould stop!)
The W800 box will be an eyecatcher in the chelves in the shops.

I'm guessing with that sort of packaging it'll give shops flexability to put it in both audio and cellular sections.
