The only way of making a phone go into car mode while in its holder is to have it attached to a working genuine in car kit.

Is not the HCH-37 a genuine SE Car Kit Holder??? I've got one & my P910 doesn't change to the car profile for lighting either.

What was trying to be said is that the holder needs to be connected to either the HCA-20 or equivilant to get the "In Car" profile working correctly.

I had the HCB-30 & I had the same issue. I now use the Jabra-250 since I have new car. I e-mailed SE & they told me to see a Service Center. That's crap...I'm not the only one that can't get the profiles to switch with the car kit.

The phone has to be physically connected to a wired SE carkit like the HCA20 for it to know that it is in a car kit. Because the bluetooth car kit only connects when it is needed (ie when a call is made) the phone doesnt know if it is in the car or in your house or on the moon.

On the moon.... hahahaha:P

I don't know anyway for it to automatcally change to "in car"-mode.
You could always change it manually:)
