I wonder if there are any cycling enthusiasts on this forum. We could have a good discussion here. Presently i ride a single speed racer a good many kilometers.

nice 1 @Ayush. i thought bout doin this myself but neva got round 2 it! anyway i got a Giant xtc Mammoth with rock shox pyslo xc forks, 4 pot hope m4 front disc and shimano deore hydraulic disc on the back. i go nearly everywher on the back wheel! i once wheelied 2.8 mile. :-D

Yes. Disc brakes on bicycles aren't new. It has been there since many years.

In our place I've seen a lot of disk brakes already for quite some time now but they're quite expensive.

Indeed. More than 2000 dollars. I got my full suspension bike here for $100!!

In india for 90usd you can get a bicycle with 6 speed gears ,suspension,rear drum break(not calliper brake)
