I guess they will come up with a new Z700 with 4096 colour or even better, Tri-band, also java-enabled version of Z700, just like they cancelled T36 and come up with T39 before. It may not be a bad thing though !!!

Hmm,..I did think about this too. The Z-700 used to be on the SE-website,..also in the portfolio of phones,...its not there anymore.

So I think it is true, that it will not come.
Or maybe,..we'll see a different version

No, I think the Z-700 has been totally scrapped. If you look at the specs it was juts a T68i with Java. S.E would end up in a T65/R600 situation again where both phones suffer in sales because there both so similar/ equally priced/ aimed at same market.

I think the S.E are right that the old Ericsson designs should continue in Europe/US whilst the old Sony designs continue in Japan.

It's canceled according to the swedish branch of SE, to expensive for targeted youngsters, T300 will be the replacement.

Only in swedish:

Nope, it's cancelled, SE published a statement 2 days ago saying they will not release the Z700.

That's sad news. But a wise decision of economically. Several of my friends were really looking forward to Z700, now they have to find a new phone model to long for. Btw, they don't like the T300's design, so that phone will certainly not be their replacement instead of the Z700 as SonyEricsson is hoping.

Out of all the phones they announced at Cebit, this was the one I wanted the most, and the same goes for a lot of people, on the basis that the T68i was basically the same as the phone we'd had for 6 months, and the P800 was going to be much more phone than we needed, whereas the Z700 was the old Sony Z series form factor - fantastic - with a colour screen, Bluetooth, GPRS, and downloadable games. A great, great shame.

Great news! i played with the phone at communicasia 2002 and it hanged twice on me!

If SE goes back and modifies it, it will be great, a bit thick on the size too, Best to modify to 65000 colors and with radio. perfect without the hangs! hope slimmer too!!

Lets support Z700i!
