i recently got a s700i on vodafone, and i'm having problems getting mp3s to it to use as ringtones. I mainly use an apple mac, and although the phone didn't come with software for mac, i was able to transfer files to and from the phone from it very easily via bluetooth. i put mp3s in the mp3 folder and it did let me play them but it did not give me the option to use them as ringtones.is there a different folder for ringtone mp3s, or do i HAVE to use sony ericssons pc software?i tried connecting my pc to the s700 and it would not connect. any help would be amazing cos i can't stand the ringtones builtin! |

Try using SE's 'DRM Packager' software. Or even search for it iin the forum, there's been quite a lot of threads about it.
Basically Vodafone have restricted some handsets (K700i, V800, S700i etc.) so that only DRM encoded files, such as those downloaded from Vodafone Live! (how convenient), can be used as ringtones.
DRM Packager enables you to encode your mp3's so that they work with your Vodafone branded phone.
Oh yeh, and welcome to Esato.
