getting HID to work with MSI BToes and K700i |

hi, 1st post here, long time reader.
I have a k700i and an MSI BToes BT dongle. I am running 2600+ athlon with 1gig ram & XP sp2.
My problem is i cant get the HID (remote function) to work . I can transfer files etc fine, but i just get the connection failed. Under BT config HID is "not required" and i cant change it. It is using WIDDCOM driver 1.4.3.4.
But here's the interting part. If i use the windows BT drivers the HID works great, but i cannot use the file transfer, as it doesnt recognise that the phone is connected. So it seems its one or the other?
I have heard of a prog which enables you to switch drivers?
BTW, once i installed the XP BT drivers i had to do a sytem restore to get rid of them.
Please help!
Thanks, and great site.

There is a discussion in here about the XP SP2 and BT. Try using the search.

Yes, but none of them address this/my issue. |

try completely uninstalling your WIDDCOM drivers and use only the Win XP BT drivers - it's basically compatible to most BT dongles, It's possible that they have conflicts.
resistance is futile. |

@m325i
Yeah, SP2 clobbered my BT drivers too. Basically had to revert to pre SP2 (actually I reinstalled XP) and I just use MSI drivers. It all works fine, including HID.
Sorry. |

Hmmm, thanks.
I have tried both, just xp, and just widdcom?
Remote would be very nice as i use itunes as my stereo, but BT file transfer is more important |
