P800 Problem. |

Hey guys ive got a P800, have done so for about 7 months, now when i seem to write text messages it seems to crash alot.
The phone screen just goes blank and the phone restarts, its really annoying because i can be half way through a long text and it crashes on me, it doesnt even save it to draft and i have to do it all over again.
Anyone had any similar problems? I've contacted SE and they told me to go to my nearest SE store to see if they can fix it.
Thanks!

My p800 did that a lot U should send it to SE Service centre, but back it up first, especially ur contacts and pictures, i lost them all on 2 occaisions. If its under warranty they shouldn't charge u, but make sure u test it in front of them when u get it back, just to make sure its working. |

A firmware update should do the trick. But make sure you do ur backups first.

reloading the firmware should solve that problem.

That would happen to my old P800 when I noticed the internal memory to be almost full. While an update from SE service center was recommended, it was not practical as there was none in my area. I simply maintained keeping at least about 1mb clear of memory and now that I think about it, it has occured much less than when practially full (less than 250kb) |

Leaving some free memory space is a good idea. I follow the general rule of thumb of leaving around 1MB. Too full and a lot of things go wrong, I even notice a battery drain if its too full.

ive got a 128mb card, so the space is fine one my phone, about 7/8mb to be sure.
I will beed to go and get the software updated...... just another little query, when i got my phone, i got it from the carphonewarehouse, when i got it there was an orange simcard inside the box, yet it was with o2...... im maybe thinking that the phone had been returned and wasnt brand new.
If it wasnt brand new could i complain to the carphonewarehouse about selling me a second hand phone?
Thanks!

Did you try to format the internal disk?

It is the INTERNAL memory that seems to be the culprit, to my experience, and has got nothing to do with the external (MS duo) so try zeroing in on this other than leaving 7/8mb.

Thats still happening to me. All the time. It tends to happen more when I have the phone plugged in. I have the really old firmware, (the first one) but I haven't been bothered to update it, so it still happens. If there is a simple fix, let me know!!

Formatting internal also 'restores' the system to 'new' |
