My uncle recently invested in one of these... but the infrared remote control for the radio is missing. Can someone please look in their Espace and tell me the model number/serial number/anything number of their remote - and give me the details of it?

Oh, it has to be from this 'era' of Espace

Thank You very much

Try your local main Renault dealer. It's the sort of thing that gets held in stock and not used, so they might have one knocking about in spares dept.

Yeah try pioneer itself. They have a few ir controllers for all models. Else, head to ebay for universal remotes. :-)

Phone up and ask a renault dealer. But beware, you'll be looking at 30 quid minimum for an original replacement.

the problem i find with universal controllers (esp. tv ones) is that they never have all the buttons you need. [addsig]

I've got a good universal one that lets you reprogram 7 buttons per device too, it cycles through every single button on the remote when you do it. It wasn't mentione in the manual though, stumbled across it by accident. Very handy.

The part your looking for is a main dealer only item. You will have to take the car to your nearest Renault service centre. They have to check the stereo serial code and cars vin number. You will get a replacement in 3-6 weeks. Maybe longer. At a cost of £50+

Is the stereo the factory fitted pioneer which is located underneith the dashboard and has a seperate cd changer ?
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose

I *might* have one of these. I've just bought a Grand Espace myself with the Pioneer stereo, which wasn't working. It's been in the main dealers today and they say the radio is ruined due to water getting in (quite where, I have no idea). If I cannot easily repair or replace it, I will fit an aftermarket system, in which case the remote will be surplus to requirements.

Anyone know what model Pioneer system the Espace uses?
