How do I connect my Mac Powerrbook 12"/1 GHz with Bluetooth to connect to my P910i GPRS connection.

I have downloaded the Scripts from Ross BArkman's site.

I get stuck at when I have to enter the GPRS CID string. What is that? Which modem script to use??

Please help. Desperately trying to connect my Powerbook to the P910i so that I can start surfing on the move and dump my slow cable connection at home

Thanks

This might help:

http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/7201.html

It's not specific to the P910 but it may offer some pointers...

Checked out both the links. Basically I'm getting stuck at teh GPRS CIS String.

I am based in India. BPL is the service provider. I have tried entering the APN mentioned at Ross's site. Doesn't help.

Can't seem to figure out what am I doing wrong here. Been using a MAc for 19 years and P800 since the past 2 years befire switching to P910i.

GPRS on phone works fine. Just need to cross the bridge to connect the Powerbook to my P910i.

GPRS over Bluetooth works just fine with my PowerBook Ti400 and P900. I think there's a problem with the P910 and having Panther 10.3 recognizing it? Are you getting it synched in any way?

Also, you might want to inquire with the service provider on the GPRS CIS string thing. Mine is *99# in the number field, with no account name or password. No Ross Barkman scripts are needed in my case.

I'm currently using the Mac OSX's supplied scripts, namely the Ericsson Infrared V110, error correction NOT enabled, and ALL PPP options UNCHECKED.

On a good day, I get anywhere between 40 and 45 kbps.

Im using my P910 with my pb 12" 1.33 over bluetooth and there is no problems.
I just enter system prefs and choose the bluetooth pref pane and choose to setup a new device.
I pair them and choose to connect over GPRS Im using the CID1 gprs script (from Ross Barkmans site) and fill in my APN in the number field in my case it is online.telia.se

This setup works fine here with 10.3.7, CID1 gprs script, Telia as a provider here in Sweden.

ok evreything is fine now except for one irritating problem the connection drops once I get a call.
Anyway to avoid that?

Also FYI I get a stable connection with error correction ON instead of OFF

Thanks for the Inputs guys

Jtcool,

Check what's enabled under PPP options. I've learned that sending echo packets drops a connection too.

What script are you using?

PPP echo is unchecked.
using GPRS CID3+CGQREC

GPRS in P910i Internet accounts is set to Automatic. So when I get a call the GPRS on the phone is still connected but it drops the connnection between the laptop and P910i

That's funny, I have the exact same problem. It connects, authenticates and transmits data, but no more than 1 kB is ever received.

Tele2 Comviq. Doesn't seem to matter though, since it worked before with my P900. Something's whacked out with the P910i.
