NEC E616/V UNLOCKING
Put a 2G Simcard and turn ON the phone. #4960*xxxxxxxx# *4960*xxxxxxxx*xxxxxxxx# Turn OFF and ON again. xxxxxxxx = any numbers Remember the xxxxxxxx you used. You will need to use same code in the furure.
Anyone know if this will work?
I cant try it till i get it tomorrow like...

Has that service been tried before by anyone here.
Permanent locks require it to be unlocked by cables and speial software which if you were to buy would cost you a lot of money, i have seen it for sale for up to £200.
The service djpowelly provided must do it by cable so thats why they charge a lot

I'd be interested to know as well, someone at work has asked me for advice on unlocking an NEC e616 they got for Christmas, so I need an unlocker that can be trusted, and one which will allow the phone to work properly with 2g sims.

Sorry for the late responce. The shop in nottingham has stopped doing it now. I read on the website they werent allowed to and 3 were getting a bit annoyed with it.
They have ceased to unlock the NEC E616V
Sorry |

Hmm, that's annoying. If anyone else has any suggestions for places that unlock the E616, I'd definitely be interested in hearing them.
