Here's a solution 2 get MSN working over O2 GPRS as well as IE. Set your IE proxy settings 2 use server 193.113.200.195 port 8080 urername mobileweb password password. Now open up MSN and set the proxy as an HTTP proxy with the same details as IE,but make the username payandgo.connect, sign in,and enjoy!

Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

yea, it works fine for me, and no other methods have worked. takes around 30-40sec to actually sign in, but response times in convos are normal. however, haven't yet managed to receive or send a file using this, i expect it is down to the fact that other ports are required to send the files. not yet tried to receive webcam, presume it will be horribly jerky on that speed connection. |

yea, you have to have the usernames as mobileweb for access and payandgo for MSN, or it wouldn't work. |

lol, why the hell should you apologise for asking a question? lol. well, made a discovery couple of days ago that actually makes the answer more complicated than it seems.
i use "mobileweb" as my login for internet explorer, and can browse and download files for free (I would notice if I couldn't, my phone's shifted nearly 2gb since january )
in my first post i stated about using "payandgo" instead of "mobileweb". well now I seem to be able to login on "mobileweb" as well in MSN Messenger. However, regardless of which one i use for MSN, it does seem to charge me for this. This isn't the drawback it seems to be though, as the amount of traffic from MSN is tiny, and I have only used pence in the several days I have been using it.
make of that what you will (or can!). the whole thing seems a bit odd, and I can't understand it, since username, password, address and port are all the same, but only MSN is charged. I suppose they could be deliberately allowing the traffic, reading the headers and charging for MSN, but then I figured, surely they'd just open up the normal MSN port?
Still works for me, so I'm not complaining. Feel free to PM me if you've got any questions. Good luck getting it working! |

there sure is!would have taken me ages to shift the amount of data i've shifted over my phone otherwise. head over to www.speedbit.com and download DAP(Download Accelerator Plus) awesome piece of software, with the added bonus of not only can you download greater than 1.5mb, but it also accelerates it - i have had speeds of 7-8k on my gprs connection with it. however, bear in mind that not all downloads are compatible with it, due to the scripts some sites use to download the files. a way around this usually is if you can find the file address the script points you to and put the URL directly into DAP, it will download it quite happily. good luck! |

That DAP software was like 4mb so i couldnt download it, didnt want to anyway since i read its full of adware and I dont want stuff like that on my new HD.
got myself a decent download manager today tho with no adware or crap like that and downloaded msn!!
i signed in using payandgo, no http settings and it worked like a charm rick!!
?> did msn change something or what, i couldnt do it before. |

who knows, but it works . as for DAP, it does display ads in the free version, but there's no actual Adware in it, just to clarify that point.
glad you're sorted |
