Has any one managed to do it? I've been trying for very long now without any luck. I'm using Windows XP:s built in fax software.

Any suggestions - or even better - any short guides available?

It's easier when you use software you got with bt. Just go to setup wizard choose dial-up service, and enter settings for your provider. After that you can access it from my at places or as any other dial-up from control panel/connections. If you don't want it that way go to control panel/connection/create new dial-up connection and choose bluetooth something instead of your pc modem. No drivers are needed but u must have sp2 for this.

there's is a IrDa modem driver download at official site. try to download and install it.

once u had installed it, turn on your IrDa on K700i and direct face it to your pc/notebook IrDa port.

Immediately your pc/notebook will will capture the IrDa modem on your COM port.

by then run your pc/notebook fax software. try to select your fax modem from your fax software and choose the K700i IrDa modem as your fax modem.

it's kinda complicated. u have to connect your K700i and link it with your pc/notebook before u can run your fax software.

not only that, u have to make a manual set your modem to K700i everytime u wanted to use it.

this is because the moment the IrDa or bluetooth modem didn't connect to any of your COM port. the setting will be gone and u have to manually set it back again.

i hope the above explaination could help u.

cheers

p/s if u still can't i will try to organize some picture to assist u. by the way.... windows XP sp2 have built in fax option allow u to fax out anything u want by not using third party software.

There is a modem for sure, but my R2L001 K700i, and several others' phones report that they do not support fax.

Maybe SE have inserted fax in a later release? Could you tell us your firmware version, please?

Hello,
I'm having the same problem with my K700i and Psion Netbook. The response codes from the K700i are as if there is no faxmodem built in.

The response to "AT+GCAP" is "+CGSM, +DS". There is a "+FCLASS" missing.

The response to "AT+FCLASS=?" is "(0)", that means "no fax".

The response to "AT+FCLASS=2" is "ERROR".

With this behaviour faxing is impossible.

Can someone who has fax working on K700i test the above commands?

Are there specials things needed for fax to work? For example special init string, disabling gprs or something other?

I have no idea how fu1at managed to get it to work! I've been trying to use the K700i as a faxmodem for a long time without any luck. I can use it as a "modem" to connect to other "modems" both using cable and bluetooth, but faxing... NO!!!

I digged through a source at SE and he is very very certain that the built in modem is a "modem" only, not a faxmodem. So, it's actually impossible to send/recieve faxes using the K700i built in modem when used as an external modem - for sure!

I'm sure fu1at has managed to install the modem in his computer and select it in the fax application (as I have too), but actually getting the modem initiated and dialing another fax machine... NO WAY!!!
