My choice would be the Apple Powerbook Powerbook G4 17".
Simply for the fact that i'm getting a little tired now of windows based pc's,and apple has always appealed to me. [addsig]

errr, it really depends on what you need it for.

Gaming?
Art?
Business/School Related?

I could make you a nice laptop thats cooled by LN2 (liquid nitrogen) and has pci-express. I could prolly clock it around 6 GHz too . Of course, i cant be held responsible for the medical effects it would have if the LN2 leaked on you...lol

Hmm not a mention of Acer?

Look around for their ferrari series. (Dislike the racing team, but the notebook is fantastic!)

I forget which ati it has in it, a 9600 I think - 128 m/b, 512, athlon 2500 cpu, 60 gb, 15.4 screen, 2 or 4x dvd writer, 4 usb, 1 firewire, 1 pcmcia, and all the usual. BT, Wlan too. No PS/2 if you need that.

There a newer model coming out soon with a 9800 in it as well, not sure if its out yet though. www.acer.com or if they don't have it www.acer.com.au for the specs.

I would buy the toshibu.
I have Satelite pro M30 and is an excellent notebook.
Think I can compare notebooks. This is my sixth notebook and I can tell you its the most reliable devices from all what I have ever owned.
And service of toshiba is great.
