Hello

Just got a K500i some days ago and have been playing around with the different options and stuff with it.. (big change going from first T300, then a Nokia 7210 that was really slow)

Have gotten SE's FileManager working great (but slow, but thats due to the fact i'm using the DRS-11 cabel)

Ringtones, mp3s, themes, images and sync'ing contacts works great and without problems.. But now i have found a little problem. Being that the phone has java; of coarse i would like to install java-software on the phone, but i cant!

.. the FileManager just shows the different catalogs regarding "media" stuff, but not the "Programs" dir.. Havn't tried sending via IR as i dont have IR on my home pc.. But shouldn't you be able to send software to the phone via cable?

And another question. the dir "Other" (in swedish: "Annat") - What is that directory normally used for? =)

Besides this little problem; i love the phone. Was in the store checking out the k700; but this little gem caught my eye due to the fact of the overall good design. I really like this phone better then the k700

[edit] - got some java-midlets over to the phone via IrDa; but the problem remains.. i want to move java-software via my cable.. :/

actually, you cannot upload to a specific folder on (k/f)500. you just upload the file and the phone decides itself where to place it. i haven't tried with java apps, but sounds work that way.

Use FMA available here: http://fma.sourceforge.net/index2.htm

Once you have it up and running, choose new upload and the phone will ask you if you want to save it in games or apps.
