Scientists at the University of Warwick in England, in conjunction with hi tech materials company PVAXX R&D and Motorola, have found an amazing way to recycle discarded mobile phones bury them and watch them transform into the flower of your choice.
They have designed a mobile phone case or cover that when discarded can be placed in compost in such a way that just weeks later the case will begin to disintegrate and turn into a flower.
A seed is embedded in a small transparent window in the case or cover. The seed is visible but will not germinate until the phone cover or case is recycled. The University of Warwick's horticultural research arm has even identified which types of seeds would perform best in this situation. For the first prototype they have used dwarf sunflower seeds.

Its a cool idea for case disposal Axxxr, bu i still leaves the problem of the board, screen and "inards" of the phoen to be disposed of. For peopel that want some envirmental responsibility form their phone its a great idea.
Of course you have to wonder if the manufacturer or dealer will recieve complaints later because it grew the wrong plant or the wrong colour

A similar project from nearly one year ago!A project-scenario where a mobile phone could be planted as an alternative discard method and become a flower (Mobile.Seed).Mobile.Seed was envisioning a fully-biodegradable mobile phone that contains a visible seed inside that sprouts if planted. The idea suggested how designers could use their influence on our appetite for technology to stimulate behaviours that steer development towards a common culture of well-being.
