How i got my V800! ;p , what about the competitor nokia 6630? |

Heeey, i got a sonyericsson v800 too!!
It all started this morning, I called singlepoint (which is part of vodafone) asking them for contract (didn't know the v800 is released), so I got the offer for P910i for £90 , with £30/mo contract 200 free minutes x-network. I thought not bad, and was about to complete it but then i just though of askin em about the v800, he told me it's released and i was like woooowwwww.
Well, i asked him about the 3G tariff, he said it's £40 for 500 minutes x-network, 100 txt messages, 30 minutes of video messaging (or was it 40?) and some other extras for downloadin music etc.... AND THE PHONE WOULD ONLY COST £50!!!!
I RAAAN to the store, once i got there I went directly to contracts and.... What the Hell!! They gave me the same offer, but the phone costs £150 !!
I went out and called singlepoint again, and another guy answered. And this time too, He said the phone costs £150!!
I thought there's somethin wrong over there.. I hungup, waited 10 seconds and called singlepoint again. This time another guy answered and told me the phone osts £50 , again for the same offer!! This time, I DIDNOT hangup. Completed the contract and will recieve the phone tomorrow P
The only drawback from singlepoint is you can't move your vodafone line if you have pay-as-you-go (my case), so i'm getting a new number.
For those who are wondering, the 3G phones vodafone is offering all work on both 3G networks, and the regular GSM network (except for download and video calling). so no worry's about that.
So, my turn to ask q's now isnt it??
First, I read about this ICE-30 classic case. Is it only a case or does it clip to the belt?
2nd, what do you all think of the competitor of the V800 : the nokia 6630?
Waitin for all the replies.

Not to depress you but I'd double check which tariff you have been signed onto over the phone. AFAIK the 3G Hero tariffs (£40 for 500 mins, £60 for 1000 mins) are only available in store and the V800 costs £150 on both of them. The only tariffs that it is £50 on are the standard Anytime 500 and 1000 tariffs that are £50 and £75 respectively - also the promotional 3G bundle that is added to those standard tariffs only runs for 3 months rather than the lifelong bundle for the Hero tariffs. That's how it worked for Vodafone Ltd anyway - Singlepoint *might* have tweaked their tariffs. You may have just got lucky of course and got onto a 3G hero tariff and paid less for your phone as well - lucky get if you have! |

The Nokia 6630's crap- it doesn't even support video calls, 3G's biggest selling point! You think they'd learn from the 7600...

The nokia 6630 does! support video call. It like "you see what I see" because there is only a camera at the back, so you can show the person on the "other side" what you see. But nokia will release a clip on camera so the other person can see your head instead (if they want to)

nokia 6630 beats V800 anytime. it's smaller, more capable with better stamina. and not 20cm long if you open it
well, V800 has got the silly addressbook as every SE has got, silly calender, customization is way behing Series60, speaking of application and games, V800 cannot be even compared with series 60.
no word, excel, powerpoint, PDF, FTP, ssh, VPN, you name it. 6630 is a phone for professionals whereas V800 is for women no features, just for image |

Silly?? Nah man... SE got the best user frendly UI.... Anyways... 6630 does support video calls... it has a tiny camera on the top, beside the ear speaker.... Unlike SE V800... we have motion eye... much more superb than 6630 and does it hv flash?? Dont think so..... and 6630 i believe is one fat momma... and damn think too... 6630 is like any other nokia phones u can find.. its all the same.. only design... so no point dicussin same old phones.... |

well if 6630 is fat momma, then V800 is superfat momma since V800 is heavier then 6630 and has less volume (cm3)
yes 6630 does have REAL flash not that pitty flash light we know from k700i that delivers worse photos then 6230 witouth such a "flash"
well that old phone has better features
speaking of which, V800 has worse basic function like addressbook and calender as well as notes then veeery oools low end 3510i (510 numbers vs 2500, proper search funtion in the addressbook, calendar with recurring events vs. calendar with no clue about recurring events)
well yah, but that's just fine for a girl having there like 20 numbers of different hairdressers
V800 is ONLY an image phone, nothing really technicaly advanced ...
6630 will outsell V800 10:1 as 6230 outsells k700i in ration 10 to 1 |

I've just received my pac number off O2 and rang the singlepoint number listed straight away.
Asked for v800 on Hero contract. He ran through all the details already listed. I asked how much the phone would cost and he asked me to hold.
Came back and said £50. It arrives Tuesday. That's two confirmed cases now. |

HHmmm..... ok ok calender wise... Nokia has a better features... i agree... But everything else... SE wins... regarding UI, Layout, Functions, Speaker (nokia is juz plain dull mono speaker), Design, everything else seems better than nokia...
I used to be a nokia consumer... but then i realise SE is better, eva since i started using Z600... as u are a nokia consumer u are blinded and trap into using Nokia phones.. coz u are familiar with it... I was once there too.. even its hard to convince my homies to get a SE phone.. try gettin one SE phone a Z600 atleast.. than maybe u'll know what SE is all about... about u complain contacts in SE phones.. all i can say its the same with Nokia phones...
I believe ur a lady...right.. than its usual for a girl to pick 6630.. coz i realise ladies love that kind of design.. even my sis have that round bottom nokia phone... honestly i dont like it.... hehehe.. maybe its a girl's thang... u know wat im sayin...If u love Nokia so much.. go ahead nobody is stoppin ya.. but ur loosing alot by not having an SE phone... cheer.. peace out;) |
