Good afternnon everyone and welcome to another chat on the couch. This afternoon I am joined by one of of Esato's regulars; a veteran of not only the forum, but also of the Indian community here at Esato. Over the past year or so he has become a well known and friendly face to the members of this forum. Please welcome mrao.

How did you find Esato?

The same way most 1st time users do...googling for ringtones & themes and ahem *cough..cough* free games

What were your first impressions of Esato?

Hehe...Considering I was looking for free games, not very positive. But something kept me coming back, and I guess it was the vast resource of information that Esato has come to be known for.

p.s.. Still no games here

How easy was it for you to become part of the community here?

In retrospect , I think it was a gradual process, which took some time.
I was reluctant initially, to post my views in threads being discussed in the mobile related sections ,and I used to stick to the Regional section. To be perfectly honest, I did'nt realise how easily I evolved from being just a part of just the Indian community on Esato and started identifying with the global community here,as a whole. Now its like a second home

Who is your favourite member of Esato?

Tricky one, eh? That would have to be list that would take pretty long to compile, mate.... Besides I'd hate to leave someone out, coz there are so many of them.
For the record, You used to one of my favourite members too, for your wit and should I say...balanced view of things which reflected in your posts...but we don't see much of you around in these parts these days, do we?

Who is your favourite moderator?

Another tricky one but relatively easy to answer...because I've only interacted with two of them ...Masseur & Tranquil ( and a very fleeting 1 pm interaction with Cytech) . Masseur and Tranquil are both unique in their own ways...so its hard to pick a favourite out of the two. But I do admire Masseur's ability to provide an answer to almost every question..or to instantaneously provide a link to where the answer could lie.

What's been your best Esato moment so far?

Lets see...that would have to be the day I spent half the night
helping a particular veteran member prepare for a job interview the next morning. And spent half the morning answering questions and giving real time support through PMs And guess what, this dude got the job I hope he's not reading this now

What's been your worst Esato moment?

Come to think of it....None

You've been a member here for some time now. Now that most of the older members are gone how does it feel to be one of Esato's 'new veterans'?

Not very different from the way it used to feel during my early days. Actually, I never thought of myself as a "veteran".. new or otherwise...since there are so many things that are discussed here
that I still do not know. And there are so many great folks around here who have been around for so much longer than I have...and who seem to be virtual libraries on the subject.
P.S: But now that you have conferred the title of "new veteran" upon me, I must say...I feel truly honoured

Has Esato changed much in the time you have been a member?

I wouldn't think so....There used to be meaningful threads & garbage threads or posters in those days...and there are meaningful threads and garbage threads or posters now... So I guess, some things never change

The Indian community on Esato is very strong, can you tell us something about it?

I think the mobile phone culture in India, has pretty much matured over the past couple of years ...thanks to Nokia So much so,that if I were to cram a mix of a 100 mobile phone users into a room....90 of them would be Nokia users...and the rest would probably use a mix of other assorted brands.. So I think it is only natural that
a collection of individuals, who share similar tastes ( in this case)
would get along pretty well sooner or later.

Which mobile are you currently using?

A K750i

Which mobile are you most looking forward to?

I've recently acquired a K750i ( My 6th handset this year) And I promised the missus that this one is going to stay put at least for a year....but I guess thats about to change , with the W900i & P990 lined up for release

Please joing me again soon when I shall be speaking to another Esato favourite ...

P.S. It's the same couch and it's in tip top condition.

Good evening and welcome to the Couch. This evning I am joine dby one of Esato's most popular and most loved members and a member who i something of a rarity on Esato ... female! Yes it is of course miss copperfield.

How did you find Esato?

I am not sure to be perfectly honest as it was that long ago. I think it was through google.

What were your first impressions of Esato?

How friendly it was and how people were always very quick and willing to help.

How easy was it for you to become part of the community here?

Very easy, everyone is so welcoming it is very easy to settle in.

Who is your favourite member of Esato?

I have so many favourite members, i don't need to mention their names as they know who they are.

Who is your favourite moderator?

My favourite is without doubt masseur, he is a great guy. He is quite literally a walking encyclopedia. Always willing to help people out. A throughly nice bloke.

What's been your best Esato moment so far?

There have been so many! I think my thread has to be at the top of the list. Nearly 1000 pages of utter garbage, what an achievement eh!

What's been your worst Esato moment?

Being stalked! I think everyone knows who and what i am talking about.

I think it's safe to say that you have become one of the most popular members of Esato including winning the title of 'Most Loved Member'. What do you think has made you so popular and do you think your gender has anything to do with it?

I am not sure really, i think the gender may have something to do with it, esato is a 99.9% male dominated forum so when a female comes along....I like to think i am genuine and say things like they are and have a laugh, and that appeals to people.

Let's talk about your thread for a moment. Did you ever think that it would become so huge?

No way! I only did it because i always went off topic in other threads, so decided to create a random thread. The popularity of it has astounded me, thanks for everyone for posting in there and making it the success it is.

Not everyone may have read your thread, what's been the worst bits and the best bits so far?

I don't think there have been any worst bit's to be honest. I think it is just a nice place to go to in order to relax. It isn't everyones cup of tea but i think it is nice to get away from mobiles once in a while.

Esato is very much a male dominated forum, but we do have some female members here. How do you get on with them?

I would like to say i get on well with miss uk, she is a top lady, it is nice to have another female to talk to, and she helps to keep the boys in order. I have not had the pleasure of much contact with the other female members, i am sure they are lovely and would like to get to know them better in the future.

How do you see the Esato of the future?

More of them same really, it is without doubt the best source on the web for sony ericsson products. Any information you need is right here and the people are fantastic, lets keep it this way.

Which mobile are you currently using?

Z800i

Which mobile are you most looking forward to?

The P990, there is only so long you can live without a smartphone.

Thank you to my guest this evening, miss copperfield and keep an eye out for inter-forum interviews ... coming soon!
