Nice comparative pics. I'm really interested in either the W850 or the Z610...hell it might even be a K800 if I can find one that's unbranded...so my options are that I wait for the Z610 which should be released soon or wait for the price on the K800 to drop or wait for an unbranded W850 to arrive on MTN which might take an eternity...Basically it's going to be a waiting game.

They only recently started to advertise the availability of the K800.

The glorified, music-orientated Nokia 6111 spin-off, the Nokia 5300, has hit the shelves here, starting at just under £120 (approx R1680) on PAYG:

Should be a big seller over the Christmas period, particularly amongst the targeted youth market.

@jmash: The N70 is not all that...it's cool that I'm able to open Office documents on my phone but sometimes It's not worth it unless I'm far from a desktop. It's not much of an improvement over my P910 except maybe for the range of software available. It's slightly smaller than my P910i, which I absolutely hated because of it's size.

I might keep my phone and take any of the three as a second handset.

@Brix - Did you 'unbrand' your cell ? I remember to have tried a Voda branded N70 some time back (in PE).Found it unacceptably slow. Althou the branding is minimal, it does badly interfere with the memory partitioning and cash management. If you are 'technically minded' the unbranding process is pretty straid forward. You should try first a unbranded n70 to see if is 'worth the trouble' (in your case). Anyone knows when the N73 will come to SA? Greetings from Jeffrey's. Mario :D

The N73, mario? Not bothered by its lack of wifi? Yes, it has Symbian 9.1 and S60 version 3, and the 3.2mp cam, but would you consider one as a viable follow-on handset to your N70 or are you gonna rather wait to see how the N95 performs?
In its defence, it seems to be far more stable than the problematic N80.

Cue Darth Vader voice: "I find your lack of faith in UIQ3 disturbing, Mario..."

I was just curious :) My wife's contract is due for a upgrade in dec. and she can get any top cell because of her 'heavy contract' (work subsidised). For me there is only one cell out there to 'upgrade' to - the N95. That handy will link 3 of my hobbies :) Flying/navigation, internet browsing/instant messaging, filming. Now that's something to look up to. On the other hand I only upgrade every 2'nd year (or more, depending how satisfied I am with my actual cell and what is available out there). I got the N70 in feb this year but only used it solely from april or so. Until dec next year I am not bothered. By then the N95 should be available and 'sorted out' even in SA or a even better device should be out. As for the P990i - yes I've secretly dreamed about it at the begin of this year. (Un)fortunately SE delayed it and N70 looked just fine. I reserve making comments about the P990i. I think SE should concentrate a bit more on their flagship model and sort out what must be sorted out.

It certainly appears that we're zooming in that direction, mfowethu... Any news from the 3G show at the CTICC? I saw the MonkeyMan wrote an article about it in the Argus the other day...

@da krypsta: It was a two-day conference and I missed it because of work and personal issues. I might ask the Monkey Man but it doesn't seem as if there were too many products.
@mario: Really not thinking of unbranding my phone, don't think I'll get much benefit if I do. Granted, it's slow but I'm not thinking of owning this phone for another year.

Any idea who's the young female singer who died in a car smash early this morning? Can't seem to find any info about it.

I doubt the N95 will be free on any package...

Unfortunately it's one of my favourite singers...Lebo Mathosa. Seems like she was not wearing her safety belt...how do you explain the driver surviving with just bruises?

Here's the full story.

I am back....

So my phone is in for repairs they cannot do at Vodaworld. That is crap, and it is bull$#!t, but yeah, so goes life. I got a replacement phone for the time, a motorolla c113, which we all know is the cheapest phone (R30 subject to the purchase of a R199 starter pack) It is so bad, I avoid smsing. the phone is useless. I avoid using it for anything. And I swear, i tested the alarm before going to bed, and set it for 5:45. I woke up 8am. if it did go off, it just stopped after a while.

So my only posts will happen via net at work. I am expecting that Vodacom will be pi$$ing me off a lot over the next few days. Will see what happens. If i cannot delete those weasel wallpapers when I get my phone back, HelloPeter will have a lot to convey to ol Vodacom.

Okay all the anger channeled, so the moment has arrived....
