Sad about Schumi, would have been interesting to see him race again, but i guess life goes on. I wonder who will be driving Massa's car now.

@ Gucci:
I ended up having an argument with one of the CPW salespeople instead.
I got to CPW and much to my absolute glee, the card next to the 5530XM dummy phone on the wall states 109.95 (approx R1500) when bought with 10 airtime! I get to the counter and the chick says it's 129.95 on the system, the same as the internet price that I saw yesterday.
I point out what the advert with all the details says a few metres away from us. I then get fed BS which doesn't bring out the best in any geeksta. She says that they just received the price increases in the morning and have to now adjust the price advertised in the shop. WTF?! I then inform her that I knew that the phone only arrived this morning (as mentioned earlier, I had phoned them this morning) and only was officially on sale from CPW today!!
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia[....]e_uk_at_150_euro-news-1057.php
When she saw that I wasn't going to fall for any BS, she then 'admitted' that it was a misprint, and that they cannot sell the phone at the lower price advertised. The manager comes along, apologises for the misprint etc and promptly takes the advert down.
Now then, on that printed advert was that low price for 3 different PAYG networks, so did they make 3 misprints instead of just one? Hmmm...
Bottom line is, I was prepared to buy it at that price but if she was straight up with me from the word go, I more than likely would've bought it.
I then started wondering if those printed ads aren't for a special promotion that they're planning to have for the end of the UK Summer break, in a few weeks' time...
Now that the slight impulsive tendencies have simmered somewhat, I can wait a few weeks/months, as the P1i is still serving me well. If it means saving another 20 (approx R280-odd) by being a bit more patient, then so be it. That kind of money obviously isn't a train smash. If the P1i was playing up, I wouldn't have minded. Right now it'll be wasting; I could almost buy two 8GB micro SD-HC's for that...

Eish sorry to hear that boet, what a silly mistake of them to make, but like they say good things come to those who wait, next month is NOKIA World so who knows you might see something you like or otherwise get the 5530xm at a lower price,either way you win.

Ya boet, and the month after Nokia World is the Symbian Smartphone Show here again.
But in principle, I do think I'll be happy with what the 5530XM offers, particularly for that money. I won't feel as obliged to get rid of the P1i either due to the very attractive pricing.
Way off topic, check this out: a quad with a supercharged, 500BHP BMW V12 engine, made by French petrolheads 'Lazareth' !
Now if I win the Euro Lotto...

In other news, surprise-surprise, a movie about
is out in October.
It's to only focus on his 'This Is It' tour preparations.

Over 1 million Ovi accounts created in 8 months. Not too shabby, Nokia:

@da wanqa: Created my Ovi account on Sunday evening and have the say the process is not too bad. On a scale of 1 to 5, I'd score it a 4,5. My beef though is that all the content is priced in Euros and also they don't have stuff you'd expect to be there like games from the top publishers. I seriously don't know where app markets are going but I would not expect Nokia to get anything below 1million new Ovi accounts considering their hold on the mobile phone market.

Congrats GUCCI!
If things turn out good for Symbian I may yet bother you about this and that with regard to symbian apps.
@wanqs
Sorry bout your temporary misfortune. At least I'm still not the only one with a P1 on the SA thread. Well, things are goign to be completely different next year, I'll be with a new girl called Android unless Symbian comes out with guns blazing.
@All
Anybody using a mac? Was supposed to have bought it in January but the rim 'accident' postponed that. I'm getting that in December and am wondering how they are and about anything to look out for.

@ Kyle: Wow, that electric CRF is bloody impressive! Love the engineering there; keen to see if they get 45 minutes of hard mx'ing with those new lithium ions that are coming out soon.
I'm still trying to get my head around the lack of gear shifting on something as wild as a CRF250 or similar, LOL.
