@da wanqa: Some good analysis there. I'm just afraid that when the phone eventually lands here, like most things it will be relatively be expensive as the ordinary guy in the street won't be able to distinguish between the 5530xm and the 5800xm which has been relatively popular down here- heavily flogged by both MTN and Voda for new contract subs.
Something like the 5530 would sit well with a network like Cell C or Virgin...priced at just over R2000 and it will definitely fly off shelves, South Africa's relatively high household debt levels notwithstanding

@ Gucci:

Ya, 2Wanq must pull his finger out and get his album on the shelves; I've just seen an Audi R8 go by and I want one, LOL.

@ da brixsta:

I hear you. Eish, I guess, as you were referring to, that the very obvious handset price differences here will be lost in the haze of contract deals in those Vodacom and MTN catalogues.
It is a shame, and only if those 'lesser' networks would use the opportunity to market it as you suggested..
Gee now that would be interesting to note what impact that would have, and how the 2 network 'big guns' would react..or not, if they're that cock-sure of their network-loyal hordes not migrating en masse to greener cellphone pastures.

Eish, the R8 is stunning indeed! best move by Audi ever. Lol, go platinum, move to the USA to avoid that heavy UK income tax, and get an R8 and a beautiful SLK for 2Wanq's lady.

@ Gucci:

Nay bra, it'll be back to SA if I go platinum; I'll just bribe the Eastern Cape's revenue services and live happily ever after. .
