My list, i am in love with the x1, i would likely not be able to Afford it, so ill settle for the g900, and if in the unlikely case that i cant afford that, ill settle for the g700... if i look at the stats that should be the pricing order

Well i was pretty happy for SE but then just saw the two new NOKIAs, N96, 16GB internal memory PLUS MicroSD expantion, DVB-H TV Antenna, an OMAP chipset, kickstand for watching Movies and TV, TV-OUT etc. . .man NOKIA with one phone have stolen the glory from SE, and the N78 looks great as well, when July comes im sure N96 will be at around R8000+ lol, guess the N78 is my next Nseries love the look and specs are very impressive.

Just noticed theres more Nokias that were announced:
6220-Classic and 6210-Navigator both are Symbian S60, and the 6220-Classic specs make me wonder if it maybe using the OMAP2420 chip found in N82,E90,N93,N95 and N96, thats pretty dam good for a non Nseries and non Eseries phone.

@ Gucci,
16 gigs is only currently matched by the latest iPhone, but as you rightly said, there's the card slot as well.
The TV-out stuff etc are also nice additions (better than the dud N77 which never made it here anyway), and that neat li'l slotted stand idea.

But the new G900 does it for me, not in looks as such, but such a slim touchscreen smartphone, with those dimensions, and a new AF 'touch' function (that no Nokia currently has... ) to manually move the camera's actual focal point, does it for me.
But hey, that's me; ya'll know how much I smaak cellphone photography and touchscreen input.

Either way, it's early in 2008 and both and Nokia have already launched some truly awesome phones.

I wouldn't mind getting the X1, G900 AND C702.
That's gotta be the first time I've desired 3 offerings simultaneously...

C'mon Nokia, howzabout a bril N-series with one of those rumoured touchsceen interfaces, LOL. Their last effort was the 7710, which flopped.
Wouldn't mind they made a slimmer version of the N82, which I really like too.

@ Gucci,
True, although both those phones are still S60 based, so one would assume at least mid-range ordnance. However, the 6220 Classic comes with the 5mp cam with Zeiss optics etc etc! Wow! Would've expected a 3.2mp on it.
Also, the fab Maps 2.0 software, with the new audio features etc is free!

Hmmm, the cellphone wars are hotting up somewhat, methinks.
Let's see if Samsung have anything up their sleeve, and if Moto's still alive n' kickin'...

@ rhino,
Yeah, same here.
If I have a secondary phone that's not touchscreen, then fair enough.

But my primary phone will (hopefully) always be touchscreen.

@GUCCI: With all those nice new features, the question that potential N96 buyers need to ask themselves is : "So what's the average talk and standby times?"
@da wanqsta: Saw a couple of Motorola's releases and it doesn't take a business science major to see why the company is losing money. Too many meaningless low-end phones and not much innovation in the areas where the company should be challenging the likes of Blokia, and Samsung.

Gucci,I've had first hand experience with DVB-H technology.2 years ago M-net had a 1 year test where some lucky MNET subscribers were randomly chosen to test the technology on Sagem DVB-H capable/enabled phones, free for one year. Its was gob-smackingly gob-smacking.They had 16 channels to play with. All I can say everytime time I connected without a glitch and it played TV without any delay in picture or sound.Real-time.Crystal clear.I think I mentioned this a while back Wanga.MNet/DSTV have been ready for this technology for 2-3 years now just waiting for cell phones to catch up.BUT remember it was a free trial so my buddy could go ballistic with it.How much will it cost you to watch TV on your cell-phone (suscription ect) Is it worth it.And dont compare that Vodacom free TV thing for R29/month.These were all the top channels (sports*3,MNET,MM1,BBC/Sky/CNN ect)

@ Wanqa
Very true, SE tend to always one up NOKIA in the camera department hey, i had no idea a phone could have that. Touchscreen is realy not for me, the TyTN made me decide that, but yep each to their own.
@ Brix
So true! Im shocked to see a 950mah battery in the N96, same weak battery used in N95 Classic, i dont care what NOKIA say they've done to optimize batt life the N96 won't last long with heavy use, the N78 got a 1200mah battery, WTF were they thinking!?
@ Hobbs
Sounds great! but with a 950mah batt how long wil the N96 last while watching TV is what im wondering.
Here i go being indecisive, i think il settle for N82-Black, N78 doesnt have an accelerometer, and im sure we may find a GPU missing as well, DAM YOU NOKIA!

@ Gucci,
Hmmm, I dunno. Nokia certainly levelled what little playing field there was with the N95; there's been enough comparisons to show that with the current line-up of phones, Nokia's 5mp cams are THE ones to beat.

If I think back to the days of VGA and 1.3mp cams, both the 7600 I have and the 3230 I had took pretty damn good pics, compared to the same pixel cams that offered. (a mate had a W550i, for example, and I had experience with the T610, T630 and of course P900 to compare). The only phone that could topple The Dark Side in these categories was the CCD sensor equiped S700i.

Personally, I think only made some serious headway when they brought out the K750i and W800i.
The cams in those still are the benchmark 2mp cams out there, IMHO.

On the other hand, their el cheapo, non-a/f 2mp cameras on some of their other cellphones are some of the worst that I've ever played around with..

As for the 3.2mp offerings, well both the N73 and P1i cams have their strengths and weaknesses; there really isn't a clear-cut winner in this segment, from my own personal experiences.

@ Hobbster,
Strange that the other P990i users in that thread haven't mentioned that.
Gonna shell out the shekels for the app as well.
