from what I have read the same fix can be applied to any of the similar models but be sure to do a backup first, just in case

I don't play many games but the ones I do play are all designed for pocket pc and so are stylus based with minimal button usage

Wait a minute. This is confusing. Aren't they the same thing? I mean Xda mini II and i mate and even Dopod from China. If they r the same, surely software can be shared and I supposed Dopod is cheaper than i mate and i mate is cheaper than xda. So why would someone buy xda II mini then? |

yes, they are the same operating system and so yes, you can use the same software. Indeed I use the same software on my iPAQ 4700 as I do on my JAM.
I wouldn't buy an XDA II mini because they are branded and I wouldn't have a clue where to get a Dopod so thats why I chose the i-mate JAM

Hello Guys,
I need help with my Jam. I'm not sure if i'm in the correct forum but I just would like assistance in setting up my Jam's GPRS/MMS for Smart Telecoms in the Philippines. I have used the Jam for a week here in KSA and I have already sent it to my wife as a Valentines gift in the Philippines. Smart Wireless center could not help me out when my wife approached them. Hoping somebody in here would be able to help me out. Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

the i-mate JAM support page is here (you'll need to sign up) and on that page is a CAB file download with operator settings.
I would try that first as I have heard that it has very good worldwide coverage for these settings

Who's retailing i mate in uk? I thought xda II is the 'original' product. Would u buy Dopod if its available in UK? I can buy one in China if you wishes. How much is i mate compare to Xda? Xda II mini is selling at RM2,688 inc. a 256mb memory card. |

Expansys was the UK launch customer for the i-mate JAM and I got mine the first day they had them
edit: xda II mini is an o2 branded phone which has only recently become available in UK
