S700 Ringtones |

Got my S700 last week from voda and it has the usual Voda Live annoying crap that goes with it.
I have read in various places that with Voda Live you can only use ringtones downloaded from them. Based on my experience, this ain't true.
While normal MP3's don't work as ringtones, there is a program called Sony Ericsson DRM Packager which converts them to a perfect working format and I have already made a few ringtones that work.
The software can be found here http://developer.sonyericsson[....]obal/docstools/misc/p_misc.jsp

Hey dude!
I've also got a S700 (T-mobile) but mine does use mp3's as ringtones!
I had copied a couple of mp3's on my memory stick and also with bluetooth/ifra, and select them as a ringtone.
Try it !

Hey vla (yummy!!)
Met vodafone kan dit niet
Vodafone has blocked the option for using any non -DRM MP3 as ringtone. The DRM packager from the developper site does a good job though and is a simple and free solution for everybody with vodafone branded phones.
Thanks a lot mate!

I did. Called into the CPW today and the guy behind the counter had an unbranded S700 on O2. Swapped the memory stick over and his couldn't play them either which did actually piss him off a little.
I asked if they could remove the branding to which I got the 'Officially, No!' answer, which i think means they would be flexable. |

As i mentioned, the mp3 file didnt work in the unbranded phone either, so the type of file is also a factor.
I have tried both a ripped file and one i downloaded and neither worked unless i ran it through this software..
Quite happy with it, now i just need to remove the branding from the phone.

anyone know a way in which you can use mp3s as sms alerts sounds, instead of the 6 crappy ones included on the s700i? |

you can't, the phone does not currently have this feature.
Tech Support: "What does the screen say now?" Person: "It says, 'Hit ENTER when ready'." Tech Support: "Well?" Person: "How do I know when it's ready?" |
