There is a bookreader that I found on another forum that could read text files. Try googling for "bookreader.jar". PM me if you want the file.

I believe bookreader works like this:
You have the bookreader program on your computer, which can convert a txt file into a jar file. Send it (the jar file) to your phone, and there you go..

@alternateve - post ka uli tol pag nakabili ka ng K700i. I can guide you on using Tequilacat Bookreader. Right now my K700i has 2 Alexandre Dumas novellas, 2 science fiction short stories, a little of Victor Hugo... But still way, way below the memory capacity!

And you can also create/edit text files, and send them to a pc in text format. Perfect for composing letters on the phone (like when you're aboard a bus on a long trip) then emailing them from a pc later, in order to save on gprs costs.

To use bookreader you must place the text files you want to view inside the .jar file. You can use WinRAR to open it and place the text files inside then when you transfer to your phone you can select the newly placed files.

And before anyone does mention it, you absolutely cannot get an app that reads text files from the memory as the Java engine is restricted from accessing the phones file system directly.

You donīt need any java app to read and edit .txt files. Just send it to you k700 (it goes to Others folder), then, click to send it by mms and you will be able to read it and edit it

@Arez
That's supposing you'll be reading a short note only. Try doing it with a whole book -- like Da Vinci Code -- and you'll find out that enjoyable reading is an impossible task without the bookmarking and word search functions. Imagine starting from page 1 everytime you open the file! I don't think you'll bother with the ebook after a few pages. And supposing you're patient enough to scroll down to where you stopped, you'll break the joystick because you'll have no keypad shortcuts.
