Since today Vodafone sells the Z1010 with a special sellout price of 99 EUR (without branding). My girlfriend now wants one too, but Vodafone only sells the grey version in Austria.
How can I get the red version? Is there a possibility to chance the grey cover into red? Can I get this cover from my Sony Ericsson Service-Partner?
Please let me know, Thx,
Alex

You can get it for the same price PAYG in Sweden from 3..
Shouldn´t be a problem getting the red parts from servicepoint. CR-Service here in Sweden have (can get) almost any (Sony) Ericsson spare. I bought a red shell for my T610 from the almost at the same time they hit the market.

I wonder why SE is selling out the Z1010 @ such cheap prices? Vodafone was going to introduce it here in Holland on contract but they now removed it from their website. :S strange huh |

well with v800 around the corner I guess vodafone wants to push the stock of z1010 they have. It is not SE who sets the price that vodafone charge for their phones and remember there is almost every time a contract of at least 12 months attached to the low price. Having said that I still think it is a good investment for the Z1010, if I understand right the v800 is based on the same chipset as z1010 but with some add ons.

The Z1010 is a great UMTS mobile, and it's very fresh in the market. I can't see why they sell it out now, just to introduce the V800. I don't like the V800's design. No way I buy that one.
So, is it possible to chance the shell from grey into red? Nobody did that till now?

Okay, about Your question, I think the easiest way to find out is to call Your nearest SE service point and ask. I guess You would not like to do the changing Yourself if You just by the plastic parts or?
I am quite sure that I could change cover here in Stockholm if I bring my phone to the service point, do not know about the cost.
Yes I agree z1010 is a very nice 3G phone, but I do not dislike the design of the v800 as much as You do.
By the way I have the cool blue colour on my z1010.

Of course you can change the shell!
What did you think, that they have to replace the entire phone in the event of an accident?
Any authorized SE dealer/servicepoint should be able to get one for you.

Thanks. Got the info now from our Sony Ericsson Service-Partner. The red shell costs 19 EUR.
