Hi,

Quick question...I have really high end in ear headphones sony MDR-EX71SL which set me back like 40. Questions is...is there an adpater for SE phones so that you can use standard 3.5mm headphones !

PS: Had my S700i for a week now and I love it !

Cheers

Welcome to Esato and well done on getting your S700.
I havent seen an adapter for the headphones yet. I would like to use my £120 Beyer DT100 headphones.

no, I haven't seen an adaptor to convert the standard headset socket at the bottom of and ericsson phones to 3.5mm

its about time someone made one because I am sure there would be a good market for it!

Jabra make 2.5mm converters for most popular phones. I'm sure 3.5 to 2.5mm converters are easy enough to find.

if only the S700 had a 2.5mm socket

only the P series have that, for all the other phones the headset uses the standard ericsson connector at the base of the phone

Thanks for the reply guys.....did not think there was anything.
Just the standard ones hurt my ears and do not have the bass that the sony's have.

I am very happy with the phone.....going to de-vodaphone it to night, so wish me luck ! lol

I dont care what anyone says about the flip or the size......the screen is so amazing, I can not take my eyes off of it !

Well if anyone sees one please let me know !

@mass - the converter fits on phone base with a 2.5mm out to phones. I use the same hands-free with this T68i and my Trium 110 - each has its own converter.

@absinthebri, gotcha! I'll investigate that option now that I understand correctly. thanks for the tip. Hopefully jabra sell that as an accessory though my initial googles didn't find anything

I'd like to be able to use my MDR-EX71SL on my K700 like I do on my P910

That might work but I dont think that you would get stereo sound like you do with the supplied headphones.

can't find anything by jabra but did find this belkin kit with an ericsson style adaptor with either a 2.5mm or 3.5mm (hard to tell from pic) socket

the question of whether it would be stereo is a good one

not bad but a little larger than I would like. SO far the belkin one seems the most compact for me

here a pic of that ebay one

Looks like a good option...

but as you say a "smaller" option would be better than having another box between device and headset.
