Motorola's Sharapova phone to be on sale |

Motorola Korea announced Tuesday the orange-colored handset that Russian tennis star, Maria Sharapova used to call her mother in her home town after her winning Hansol Korea Open championship would be on sale in Korea.
The so-called Sharapova phone (model name : ms330) will be released in the Korean market mid-October, earlier than in any other country.
The Sharapova phone was originally made by Motorola Korea to celebrate the Wimbledon champion’s visit to Korea. A company official said, “After winning the final, Sharapova held her orange cell phone that attracted the audience’s attention. As the response was greater than expected, the company decided to advance the launching schedule.”
The handset named after the young sports star is equipped with 1.3-megapixel camera and the special surface material feels soft and smooth like rubber and makes the phone look classy, coupled with the vivid color.
According to the company, the Sharapova phone will be launched in other countries after its debut in Korea. The new cell phone is available in orange, blue and purple.
In a related story, last July, Maria Sharapova beat Serena Williams at Wimbeldon. After the win, Sharapova's father passed his cell phone down to center court so she could call her Mom in Florida. Unfortunately, like too many other mobile phone calls, the phone didn't work.
It keeps switching off, I don't know what's wrong with it," she said. "I was trying to phone my mum." "Come on technology," said a frustrated Sharapova."

Hey, what was the name of the phone that didnt work? I'll probably buy the ms330 for my girl once it arrives here. ;-)

No idea of the brand of phone used?...It was however her fathers phone she borrowed that day to call her mother.
