Thanks a lot to MikLSP for posting the following settings in another discussion:

Internet Accnts:
-Accnt name: O2 WAP GPRS
-Conn. type: GPRS
-user name: payandgo
-password: Password
-Address: payandgo.o2.co.uk
-IP add. auto: Tick
-DNS add. auto: Tick
-Use Proxy: Tick
-Proxy add: 193.113.200.195
-Proxy port: 8080
-Enable PPP: Tick

WAP Accnt:
-Accnt name: O2 WAP GPRS
-Int. Accnt.: O2 WAP GPRS
-Use Proxy: Tick
-Add: 193.113.200.195
-Port: 9201
-user name: (blank)
-password: (blank)

Anythin not stated is left as default

IMPORTANT: READ BELOW IF YOU WANT IT TO BE FREE!!!!

Regarding the above settings, instead of using port 9201 on the WAP account I used 8080 and my grps is completely free now.woohoo. I also checked to see whether this was just the monthly 1MB free allowance but 2day i used about 4MB and no change on my credit.had few connection probs tho like once i get disconnected n try to reconnect i get a message saying activation rejected but then i change the port bac to 9201 and try connecting and then i still get activation rejected, then i change the port bac to 8080 and it works again. however doesnt always work after applying the little trick jus mentioned.i think it works after a little time.not sure on the exact time you have to wait.I have left my GPRS connected since morning (GPRS timeout = never) and its been free all day so im not complaining. O2 PAYG users give this a try and see if it works for you.also these settings also work on nokia 6600 (and possibly others) becuase my brothers have that phone and they to are getting free GPRS.spread the word if it works.

Good to hear you finally got it working mate.
I don't think you need to do anything to avoid the rejected message just keep retrying, it happens from time to time but very rarely where I am.

Does anyone know if this will work if you're on O2, but not pay as you go?

It's guess it's not as easy to find out if it's free, as you have to wait for the invoice, but do the settings allow a connection for a start?

Yes, I usually average about 30mb a day of free gprs with my o2 pay n go sim in! With regards to the activation rejected message previously mentioned in this thread, thats down to the network. I find its usually easily resolved by powering off then back on.

Damn... Do these settings work on a p800? has anyone tried? Damn I would love it if they did... Definitely saving these settings... Why wouldn't these work on other phones? I mean, what's to stop me using these on a p800???/?

Of course they work on a P800! What I don't understand is why you don't simply TRY!
These definately work for PAYG.
I don't know about contracts as I've never had one.

The settings should work on any phone that allows you to change the proxy port setting, on o2 its 9201 as default, set it to 8080 and you get totally free gprs!

In my experience, it only seems to be smartphones that allow the proxy port to be changed.

all u guys on contract give the settings a shot.enter the settings den use some gprs and then check if u get charged when u get ur bill.i guess thats the only way 2find out on contract if u r getting charged.btw dont use too much gprs when u test out the settings otherwise u mite end up with a high bill if the settings dnt allow free gprs on contract. The reason why I don't "try" is because I don't have my p800 yet, (friday hopefully) and also because I would have to get an O2 sim. Actually, I have an O2 online sim, will it work on that? It should shouldn't it? I'll try anyways.

ALso, why would a network allow a "free" gprs port???
