Cheers Jiggy,
Looks like a silver one then, though god knows when;-(
Does anyone have a silver one and if so, are they cheap/tacky looking or cool?

The silver/grey one does'nt look as nice as the blue/black one imo.

The silver/grey version has the black keypad and black facia buttons which look out of place. There's a grey version for sale on ebay uk at the moment (on orange)

This one you mean: Ebay auction

I have the same one, they grey one and it looks great. The black one is very mono-colour up close after you have had it a while, thats why i got the grey/titanium one

Nah

This is one of the D500's I saw on Ebay

The grey/silver colour looks ok but its the black keypad they kept which put me off having that colour. That and the black one will always match what I mainly wear

Noticed on the Orange ebay one that I couldn't see the crappy "Orange" box logo on the phone itself. Is there one on the D500, and if so where? (Don't tell me... a big 2 inch square one on the back )

You forgot to mention the V3 I had and sold after a month (went last week for £300)

Most unhappy with the P900 as after a week of use it went back to manufacturer for a new board which took 4 months. Since then its been back another 7 times with various problems. Not had a proper chance to use it and just had enough.

S700 is easy to use. Very straightforward. D500 to my suprise is also very easy to use compared to the last Samsung I had (A300).
Both phones are about the same imo. The only visable difference is that the S700 is bigger, heavier and has MS Duo support. The D500 has enough memory to last a good while (over a thousand pics etc apparently), is a smaller size, better speaker/sound output (louder).
Battery performance is nearly the same with the D500 lasting about a day longer (depending on use).

I does'nt matter which phone you buy as you will be pleased with either one (although I do use my D500 on a daily basis eg work, and I use my S700 for other times)

When I get a bit more time I'll see if I can do a comparison pic with both phones.

Go into option sby pressing the riight menu key in the camera mode and it should have flash settings. Change the flash to on-/auto and it should dtay on. If it doesnt its a flaw in the phone 9edit: i found one eventually!) as when you send a sms, and put on t9, go in and send another its NOT on T9 automatically.

Just played with mine properly...it does the same. Just press 0 (zero) once when you start up the camera and the lightening bolt icon turns green so the flash is now on. Its only one button press so fairly quick.
