CPW head office have just phoned me and told me they don't have any stock of D500 until end of next week Looks like mine wont be arriving anytime soon then.

Did a bit of shopping today and went into a few phone stores just to see if I could get a better upgrade price. Results are on an upgrade with O2 UK contract:-

CPW Head office - £100 - none in stock

CPW Store £150 - Had none in stock (they actually told me to order the phone from their head office)

O2 shop - £210 - none in stock until Monday

The Link - "er...we don't stock that model of phone yet as its not available until Feb 05" - Useless Numpties

Phones 4 U - £259.99 I was told if I cancel my current O2 contract and start up a new one on the O2 200 tarrif the phone would only cost me £50 or I could buy a sim free one from them for £670 : Oh, and I would have to change my number (again )

Looks like I'm just gonna have to wait. May just wait until the Samsung phone that has a 3mp camera (cant remember its name) comes out in Jan 05 instead.

I bought mine yesterday and am very happy with it, but having had a SE phone for the last 3 years or so (T68i, T610, Z600) i have a few questions.

Is there a editor to create skins? The phone comes with four installed, but i don't like any one of them.
Is there a way to send over the complete phonebook? I've tried bluetooth and IrDA and they don't work.

Anyone have a solution?

Thanks

@Sjemboll - I couldn't copy whole phone book from my T68i to the D500, but you can sent individual contacts. The other option is to sync to outlook using Easystudio, which you can download hear, but be warned its a bit over 100mb!

Good luck

After a nice delay. CPW head office have told me I will recieve my D500 on Tuesday morning

Has anybody done a comparison in pictures between the S700i and the D500 ? I already have an S700i and the pics are good but can be a little blurry sometimes.

I have a Samsung E800 and everytime I upload a wallpaper, there is a white border around the picture.

Does the D500 also show a border around the picture or is the picture filled right to the edge of the screen?

Thanks

Kinda depends on the size of the picture. The pre installed pics fill the screen on my D500 (using the Ferrit pic atm). I transferred a pic across from my S700 and it has a border around it when viewed. Theres no image editor or application cd that comes with the phone but if you go to the Samsung website and look at the D500 and select applications or downloads (cant remember what its actually called) you can download an image editor to sort your pictures out. Might work with the E800 as well A friend has got the E800 which I was very tempted to buy until I realised it did'nt have bluetooth. Theres also a cable available so that you can transfer pic/photos from you E700/E800 to your pc.

Rookwise, I have the editor software for the E800 and even I set it to fill the whole screen, when I transfer to file to the phone, the phone resizes the picture to leave a border. Its a shame its the same with the D500. (I am talking about standard wallpapers available for free on websites).
Thanks for looking.

On the colour discussion, I'm with Orange and have just renewed my contract with an upgrade handset. I opted for the D600 (Currently have P900 which I'm keeping) as it is compact and ideal for normal day use at work, pub etc.
Anyway, I fancy the black one, but have heard that Orange are supplying the silver one? Any one enlighten me?

Thanx

PS Orange says they are out of stock at present, so I have no idea when it'll arrive.

Hi Orange are all out apart from the few in retail stores. They only do the grey/silver one, not the black which is only on O2/voda or sim free of course.

Good luck getting one. I have one and they are the best small compact phone by far!
