Does the camera's "night mode" on the K700i actually have IR illumination to see in the dark? Or does it just turn the flash on?

It has a soft that 'lights' the pic a bit-don't know about light,don't have a k700.

There's no ir thingy or nor does the lamp switch on in night mode... It's utter crap! It just makes the picture go all grainy... |

um night mode turns on some sort of a low-level light boost, like a Gain feature sort of...
doesnt touch the flash, although the more light available in a night mode shot, the less grainy it gets...
it is pretty sh!tty though, so i stay away from using it |

night mode doesn't do any physical enhancement to the images - it simply increases the image's brightness/contrast to sort of allow you to see a brighter (not better) picture. IMO this feature is useless.

Yes, completely useless. The "flash" seems like it would eat up a lot of power too, I wish it would only flash once during the taking of the photograph. |
