I upgraded my T68m (on Orange) at the Car Phone Warehouse. they had the phone about 3 hrs.

though they upgraded my phone on monday with the R2B025 firmware, and now I have found there is a newer firmware out of R2E006 but CPW Belfast doesn't have it.

Link Telecom upgraded my phone (T68 on Orange) on the morning of the England/Argentina match, for free and in about half an hour.

What a great day!

Any service centre should be able to do it as Orange T68 is no different!...same hardware and software...just has a pre loaded Orange logo, and Orange SP lock...

I went into the CPW in Reading today to get my T68 upgraded and was refused the upgrade.

I called Orange to ask why as it was them who had arranged for the CPW to do the upgrade. They made a call on my behalf to make sure that they could do it. I also phoned this morning to check that all was OK at the CPW and was told to bring it in.

Orange are now telling me that it can't be done until the upgrade has been tested. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm really pissed off with Orange. Why does everything have to be so difficult to get done on bloody Orange!

Orange were spot on for me. I rang them about the upgrade and the lad I spoke to said he knew about the upgrade but that Orange had nothing to do with it. He then got SE's telephone number for me, who I rang and they found my nearest service center.

Oh and does anyone know of a service centre within a reasonable distance of Reading that are definately doing it?

Yours with his phone poised precariously over the bin.

Cheers Superjoe,

I'm just about ready to quit O. What with a phone I can't use at home unless I stand on a chair or go upstairs. No signal inside various shops and my office whilst those around me chat away happily. I knew Vodafone was expensive but at least I could use the phone!

Or am I just a whinger!

No bugger it! I'm paying for it so they should give me the service I expect! Right?

You should expect a reasonable level of service whoever you have a contract with. In my experiance though (3rd year with Orange) everytime I have spoken to them they have been very helpful.

I work for CPW,mines done, its fine...The phones are the same, only difference is that Orange preload a few things on the phone, software and hardware are the same!...CPW can no longer do the upgrades as of TODAY due to a directive from Orange!...this is Bollocks!...the upgrade can only be a good as fixes bugs and problems and this therefore would result in less exchanges by Orange!
