I recently got a K700i and there is a weird icon next to the signal stregnth indicator. It an envelope with a piece of paper on top of the envelope (I thought it was the fax icon). I looked in the manual and the icon isn't there. Anyone know what it is and/or how to remove it?

Sounds weird,
My lucky guess it would be e-mail in your message section....

Is it a message received via cell broadcast? Thats the closest that I can find in the K700 manual.

If it's just a pure 'yellowish' envelope, sure it's an SMS, but what the heck is that paper doing? Aside from the bugs this K700/i model has . . . it also contains - 'ghost paraphernalias' ! |

The "paper" is on top of the envelope (well in the upper right corner of the envelope)
Here is a picture, but you really can't tell...I'll have to wait till i get home and sure my camera. Took the picture with a T610 and it's not in focus so you can't really tell.

I had one of them with my T68i.
I'm sure it was either a push message or area info, can't remember which of the two.
Is there nothing in your normal message inbox? The T68i had a separate inbox for push messages, but I think the K700i keeps everything in the same place. |

I think area info is used by the provider or other parties to send information specific to the cell you are currently in. Don't think it's used extensively, not in England at least. |

looks like an Auto setup icon to me, these are when you get wap, gprs and other settings sent to your phone |

I once had a wierd icon that is not in the phone instructions, it was on the call list, it was where the incoming call/outgoing call icon would be and it was a little green film negative type thing. I could never work out what it was.
