its basically a USB cable attached to a desk stand which lets you copy content to and from your phone to a pc and is also used to update firmware on the P900/P910 and K700

DSS-25

No you cant upgrade using infrared. You have to use a DSS-20 or DSS-25. It is only possible to update the software on P900 and K700 at home at the moment.

I have a question:
Would the USB cable 'DCU-11' be considered a sync-station?
Somewhere (don't know which thread) I think I read that only DSS-20 and DSS-25 would work with K700.... is that true?
If so: Why not??

Thanx!

Its a bit hard to find this Sync Station in Australia, was wondering if the USB cable and the stand CDS-11 would work?

it is now being posted (repeated) up to 5 times a day on esato in different threads that the DCU cables will not do. The online update specifies in its initial pages that you MUST use a DSS-20 or DSS-25. I have no idea why but people who have tried the DCU cables have proved that it does not work
