At their press conference on Wednesday, SE will anounce amongst their future release the P1001. The phone which will have similar design as the P910, will feature WiFi and will be EDGE and UMTS compatible. Expected release date is end Q4 2004 (before x-mas....).
.... I have just spent 900 EUR for the P910 yesterday and I think I'm gonna jump out of da window ! Wake UP !!! |

Can we have a link for the press release??? the P910 definitely looks like a terribly mis-timed release if we gonna have P1001 by this year end!!

That seems very unlikely as the P910 isn't expect to roll-out worldwide until November.. With that said, it would be extremely difficult to market its successor only a month later.. I'm guessing Spring of '05 at the earliest.. They kinda jumped the gun with the P800 and we all know how long that was pushed back. However, being that the MPX will feature Wi-Fi they do have an incentive to push a competing unit around the same time.

I dont get it you guys are so infatuated with those stupid phones that you will never be satisfied with what you have. Wake up all they want is for you to keep buying their new phones. I bet you that many of you did and then sold your phone at a loss just to have that new phone. Wake up its only a phone. Thank god i overcame that urge.

Well that was quite an amusing rant... people will always do what they so choose, even if that goes against your better judgement... the funny thing is we all know what you say is true, but just don't care...
Blimey, if i took note of that I would still be driving a courtina, using a ZX spectrum to access the internet, somehow, and be lumbered with a "mobile" phone as useful as a council brick with the dimensions to match...

Well unlikely, but we will see. With the MPx, the HPIpaQ6315/40 and other coming out, we will see if SE has anything up their sleeves.

so if this were true, then it would seem that the only purpose of the P910 was to possibly hold people off from buying a motorola or a nokia smartphone until the P1001 was announced. hmmm....
well, whatever it is, we should all find out in a few more days' time. |
