I have added a link to this post from my K700 Firmware Updates post. I hope you dont mind!
I also have a question for those who may have more idea than me about the flashing process! The last time went into my local Service Centre (Coventry, UK) the lady started updating my firmware to R2L (I was watching her PC to make sure I was getting the most up to date firmware!), but after a short time it failed, compaining about some sort of Key. The lady said that she couldn't update the firmware as her Service Centre did not have the relevant key to update K700s yet.
Any idea how I can give SE a push to send the Coventry Service Centre a new key  . I don't really fancy going into Birmingham to get my phone updated! |

I live in Birmingham, UK with an Orange Branded K700i.
Is the best thing to do just turn up prove its still under warenty and ask for it to be upgraded to R2AE033 and they would do it? Or would I have to leave it with them for a few days and come back to them?
Its R2AE033 avaliable for Orange Branded phones?

Just an update on that.
Phoned all of the Birmingham ones, none of them can do it. Phoned Sony Ericsson themselves and they said noone in Birmingham does it.
Well thats a cock up n a half.
Ill try phoning CPW in Birmingham for a firmware update but doesnt sound promising.

Please note that SE have withdrawn the update service at a lot of the independant shops in the UK. The shop i was using in Surrey no longer offers the service.
I managed to find a larger Carphonewarehouse that can still carry out firmware updates, but i think they have messed up my phone! |
