I donīt know, how it works with macs, but Windows uses My bluetooth places, and it supports File Transfer, when I open it, it shows me all files and folders in my phone, then I mark all the files I want to transfer to PC - they appear in bluetooth exchange folder... Did you try something like this?

Use the "browse" function in the Mac. There you can select multiple pictures in the phone and transfer them all in one go.
