Looks like they're going to make a song and dance about the processor again...remember the "emotion engine" hype? Turned out to be nothing but an average processor.

About how everyone likes dvds and blu ray disks might not catch on. a while ago nobody had heard of dvds and everyone liked cds. so blu rays will probably catch on

Thats is just one of the many concept designs for the PS3 and by no means the end product!...The final production model will be a lot different to this.

I personally don't think blu-ray will be as popular as DVD as 3 hollywood studios have already backed a rival format HD-DVD and do you remember what happen with betamax? |

and then blasted microsoft will come along with an amazing, but ugly, over priced and huge console that beats it and wins first prize - always happens.
most ppl i know are like 'the xbox graphics are mint', and they forget that it looks like a fisher price toy and is just crap!!!

Well hopefully it will have built in wi-fi and an ide controller (pref. with a harddisk caddy). But knowing sony they'll be expensive add-on extras

vanquish im sorry to disappoint you but the x-box kicks the ps2's arse whatever way you look at it. The x-box is what the ps2 should have been in the first place. Now sony, for the first time ever in the console market, find themselves not as pioneers, but playing catch-up, and having to copy the x-box with things like hard drive, 4 controllers, etc. to stay in touch.

Looks like meths is talkin out of his arse :-l u should get ur facts straight. Ps2 came out b4 the xbox,and u should know how quickly technology progresses over a short period of time. Duh,check the age differences b4 u compare! ;-)

do you reckon that you will still be able to play PS1 games on it.
and do you reckon they will let you use PS2 memory cards because when i got my PS2 the memory cards were still like $75AUD and i was just planning on using my PS1 memory cards but the bastards ripped me off and didnt let me:(.

because they didnt need to.
microsoft rushed into making the xbox and put all the latest shite into it, which resulted in lesser quality(hardware, not graphics). while playstation took more time to realease to make sure it was top quality gaming machine, which it is.
