Just wondering. bought me a bluetooth adapter and ive been playing around with the nice fancy things, then I thought something crazy, of being able to use the K700i wirelessly as a webcam through bluetooth. Or even an Application to help do it..

Sorry if there is another thread or topic already on this but I hate browsing through the thousands of threads looking for it.

Thanks in advance.

as far as i know there isnt any software to do it.....and the data rate you get with BT is too slow for a decent quality webcam

but if there is a way...or someones made some software then i'd love to know lol

wouldn't have thought that it would be possible as most software needs to be connected directly to the camera to get the picture. whereas the phone would save the picture to the memory then the software would need to extract it from there. Could be possible if somebody was to create a peice of software but nothing exists at the moment that i know of. Also data rate wouldn't be important as the webcam would have to be set up to refresh every 20secs or so, i am sure that a live feed cam would be impossibly using the k700.

In theory it is possible to use the K700i as a webcam via bluetooth since it has the BIP profile but there are *very* few PC BT applications that support this; the only one I can think of is a Sony network remote camera application for VAIO's.

That thread is about using a phone to view a webcam, not to use a phone as a webcam.

FMA (floats mobile agent) does have a webcam script on it where it will make the phone take a picture than extracts the image to the PC. If you could then create a script to upload the image to the interent by FTP you would then have a webcam with a refresh rate of about 15-20secs. However, FMA doesn't deleate the picture of the phone so you would need to do that every so often or the memory would become full and it would stop taking photos. A lot of effort when decent webcams are only around £40 now, an they could be used for live streaming over messenger applications like MSN.
