Ok, we know the K700 R2A firmware is sewrage. Sony Ericsson customer care don't know of any updates yet. Neither do the service centre's..

What i want to know is -

When will Australian K700 users be able to upgrade their handsets firmware?

Can someone send me the latest firmware upgrade (i have a sync stand)?

You must update it in SE service center or wait until the online service become available.

hi doohan!

Well this is a little strange. i mean doohan says that he has his K700 already and i found in another forum someone who said that it wasn't there in sydney yet, so maybe everyone from now on should post where they got theres from if they've got them.

Well i'm getting mine on saturday from B clear and simple communications so if u've got it post ur store.

PS i'm in Perth

Ok, so the service centre's don't recieve the software updates until someone brings in their phone and they hook it up the their machine and the machine downloads the latest software.
I did this yesterday except my K700 crashed their upgrade machine.
3 more weeks to wait now...

Well i am now currently a proud owner of a K700. Info:

Purchased from: B Communications, Perth WA
Price: $750
Date: 7/8/2004
Software Version: R2A041, (to check press >*<<*<* while in standby)

No problems, everything is good with the phone. The camera is great, the sound is great, the '2' key doesn't get stuck, the phone doesn't lag and no problems so far except possibly the battery indicator is wrong or its just the new battery.

trust me its good

yeah the prices were always strangely widespread but i'm not fussed. As long as i got the phone i was happy, outright is the best way to go. Well thats my opinion, get it over and done with

bought my phone overseas in SIngapore and took it in to a service centre in Sydney. They said it could not be upgraded as it was purchased from a foreign country.
This was a couple of weeks ago and they said new firmware was available.
Not sure if I believe them saying it is impossible.
