Here is the story: I sent my P900 off for repair June 14th.. It arrived there June 15th. and was being signed for. July 2 I called, because status on internet did not indicate that repair was in progress. So I got assigned a case number. To this date the case manager has not heart back from service center (which is Solectron a sub contractor I guess) about the status. That is unacceptable. I am out of my fon for a month now. I called several times since then, but did not get anywhere. Same answer we have to wait for the status. And they do not let my talk to someone who can kick a$$.

Anybody with similar experience or knows an inside track or knows someone who can kick butt?
I am really starting to get pissed.

I would demand to speak to some with greater authority and don't give up until you do; or even better, if it is possible, go there in person.

Unfortunately, they are 3000 miles away and they don't let me talk to anybody with greater authority. I will try again tomorrow.

Write to the head of the company, phone them, e-mail them, etc, but make sure that you don't give up.

I sent my Z600 to Solectron for repair, got it back, not fixed. So I got pissed called SE back and sent it again, got it back a week quicker fixed and flashed with R6C. So I'm really happy even though I had to send it twice, considering I bought my phone used and the first owner dropped it and broke the port loose on the bottom of the phone. Solectron put a new port on it and flashed it. Just keep calling them back and complain, worked for me but I didn't get pissy with them or anything.
It takes an idiot to do something cool, thats why its cool.

Oh shit...

Threads like this scare me because my phone is all boxed up and ready to be sent out. I have a screen calibration issue where my screen taps register about 1/2-inch lower on the screen than where I actually tap. I cannot write or select icons, links, etc. It sucks!

I'll be sending mine to Solectron in Morrisville, NC. I'll post my experience here.

I presume you have tried re-calibrating your screen.

Yes, I tried recalibrating my screen. It didn't work.

I was told it would be 5 - 21 business days before I got my phone back. If it is more, SE is gonna hear it. I don't mind being without my phone as I have a somewhat-acceptable replacement. But if they say 21 business days (I figure that means about a month) they had better get it back to me within 21 business days. (Yes, I'll be counting.) Otherwise, I'll be pissed.

But that means nothing to them, I know. They could care less whether I am pissed anyway - they already have my money.

I sent my HBH-60 away for service and they lost it! (I sent that to Ingram Micro - not Solectron.) They did, however, replace it with an HBH-65 though. After they approved the replacement, I had it in my hand within 2 days. (I was quite impressed with that.)

I just got off the phone with SE (1.866.269.1152) and I got the same story still waiting for feedback. Need to wait 2 more days. I have been waiting for 25 business days now and they have not even started to repair the phone. This is discouraging. This is already the second time I sent it in. The first time it took 15 business days. I told them I will call them Thursday and not get off the phone until I have an answer then. I think they are drowning in phones. This is the phone number of Solectron in Morrisville. 919-941-2100. Has anybody tried that. I tried guessing e-mail of VP's of SE, but the e-mail did not go through. We need an insider here.

I found their website.
http://www.solectron.com/
They are just a contractor for many companies. Our phones are just a number there and are stored alone and in cold dark places. Nobody pays attention to them until it is their turn to be serviced.

This is really bad.

You would think that aftercare procedure would be good enough. Its such a bad turnaround on service.
I would understand 2-4 week period but anything more is very bad/wrong.

I think the service is better in Europe. We are the black sheep here in the US and always get the short stick when it comes to SE phones and services.
