I was just wondering in which order do you Esatorians view the posts. I have them in ascending order.

I use descending as it lets me get to the latest replies in long threads quicker.

for those that want to know how to change this, just click on "Edit Your Preferences" in the top menu and change the "View posts in order" field

Actually I have it on ascending so when I open and read a new topic I can follow the discussion in the right order.

the thing is that I read most of what is written when it is written so generally don't need to read the rest unless I don't follow what the latest reply means

ascending for me as well.... so that if something attracts my attention i can read the whole thing in proper order.

for threads I fiollow I wouldn't mind having the latest posts fiorst..... but then I'd have to scroll down all the way to the reply button which is awkward... it should be on top when the last post is on top as well imho.

On the whole descending is just a bit more convenient for me

It's a bit swings and roundabouts really. The long-running threads (e.g. post your photos from a P8/9, thread for UK users II, etc.) it needs the latest ones first ideally, as even with broadband it takes a short while to get to the last post or two. I wonder if there's a way to set it up so that if a thread's only a page long or a day or two old it starts with the first post, after that goes over to 'latest post first', or is that too complicated to implement?

btw, sorry for going off topic, but masseur, have you got a new avatar? Looks like one of the new phones!

I use descending as that way it goes to the end after u post a reply instead of going back to the beginning.
It does p*ss me off though how it will NEVER stay logged in on this damn forum (P900 via html light btw) so they don't stay descending for long! In fact as soon as I go to a new page it is back to ascending as I'm no longer logged in.
