I have one question though ... When I am creating messages (with flip closed), I decided to open it to continue my writing ... the screen stayed. if you use SMAN you may have the option

in this case, if msgs are not included in your snapshot, any time you close the flip, these are flushed (terminated) and t4 u cannot continue writing msgs when closing flip

in case you don't use SMAN/FLIPCLOSE FLUSH, disregard this post

but if you do use SMAN, then take a new snapshot including msgs

Hmm.. I flashed my yesterday (with an Emma-terminal, not the do-it-yourself-OnLine-upgrade) and I got the following:

Org: CXC162021 R5B02
CDA: CDA162003/1 R5A07
Tel: CXC1620022 R3D011
BT: CXC12529 R5D

It all depends on if your P900 is branded or not, some providers are
slow with releasing branded upgrades. Mine is totally unbranded.

Yeah, this post is incorrect in stating the 'latest firmware' (Organiser)is R5A09. Several threads on the correct latest release which is R5B02.

I think R5B02 is the latest firmware for the English version. Mine is the Chinese/English version and the latest firmware for it is R5A09.

Cheers!

chingwa14,

if you got your P900 in HK, you should have gotten the chinese version of it. i believe you can get the language file from SE.

i got my unit from San Francisco and i am using both English and Chinese.

weaponofchoice,

did you mean firmware upgrade? you can take it to your local SE service center or do it online from SE site.

you can find out what FW version you have from Application -> Edit -> System information.

Then go here http://www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice/P900/frameset.htm

enter your FW version and see if you have the latest one

Hi Chingwa,

I believe you have to save the file under system/fonts. If you cannot view the 'system' files in the memory stick, that is because you have to go to file manager on your P900 to go into the system folder.

May I direct you to this link:

Hope it helps.

Hi Redisol,

Yeah, my P900 comes with the HK Chinese language. As to your question, I am afraid I don't quite get you but I tried this: With the flip closed, got into messages and tried to write with T9 off. Then I opened the flip and closed it again. T9 returned.

H Anissa,

Yes, ..that was what I meant. I wanted my phone to stay in multitap mode whenever I start composing a message with flip closed. I guess I wont be upgrading this time... thanks you very much

For your information, I CAN read English. I know you need traditional Chinese, not simplified Chinese BUT your question was where to find the system folder to put the file you have d/l! The link I directed you to teach you exactly where to find it! It does not matter whether it is traditional chinese/simplified chinese. The method is the same.

Sorry for being a busybody here. I should have just kept my mouth shut.

Sorri, anissa
didn't mean to be critical,
but the site does not really say how to access the 'system' folder in the p900
i tried to use file manager to access the folder.....but the only options i got is 'INTERNAL', 'EXTERNAL - MEDIA', and 'EXTERNAL - OTHER', i tried to find that system folder everywhere, and it's not there....
and i suppose that the specific folder that i am looking for is suppose to be in the memory stick, not the phone.
thank you for your help!
thx thx ^_^
