First of all thanks for doing us all a big favour.
Second of all, I know that time is an issue for you, but maybe :blush: you might want to consider make a version two of the theme in which instead of people, different types of spacecrafts from StarTrek (the 3 enterprises for example) appear ... or the Enterprise jumping to warp

Based on the different requests, I decided to make one template for the theme and then for each version some of the middle images will change (the character photo, logo, ship graphic, etc.) - so everybody should be happy right?
Here is a theme to test on your K700s (remember, I don't have a K700 to test with! although I might have to get one now..)

The animation speed can be changed - here are two samples using the speed 7/100s and 1/100s (the fastest I can export).

This one is the fast 1/100 animation - the browser plays it slower for some reason. How fast does it look on the phone?

I forgot - is it maybe possible to add the Star Trek badge and the Enterprises at the right side to the theme like at the screensaver at page 3? |

great work dude. incredibly astonishing. I look forward to see the complete theme, but it sounds great. Even the selection menus (for the profile etc. are great (the yellow thing)).
can you make the circle shine a little bit (so it's a little bit stressed out in the dark? )

Theme Version 1 (for benz):
center area:
-> Capt. Kirk (lady in red too?)
-> text like: "INCOMING SUBSPACE TRANSMISSION" or something
right area:
-> starfleet logo
-> original enterprise
Version 2 (for valentiner):
animation will play:
-> different ships
-> large starfleet logo
-> any characters?
right area
-> animate different ships
-> or another control panel
Version 3:
animation will play:
-> seven of nine images
right area
-> starfleet logo and voyager pics
Did I forget anything?
I'll brighten the circle and work on the rest of the menus.
Does everything line up on the sample theme?

for theme 2: ships should include only Enterprise NCC 1701 D, E, NX 01, and Voyager. NO TOS (Enterprise A) please
also becarefull to maintain a part of the circle in down part (menu item like call, more, send etc.) portion (somehow)

EDIT:
I've a great idea regarding the Pics of the characters!
Maybe (if you want) you can ad a "distorsion" (like on the TV sometimes, don't know if you know what I mean) to the second character (lady in red) after some (short) time and THEN the "END Transmission" pic. This would be like the transmission ended because of bad/no reception!

Theme #2 standby/background image (2.13 Megs!!) UPDATE: this file is 255 K now - this is exported at 1/100s (fastest) but it may play slow in the browser. Please tell me how fast the animations look on the phone and if anything should speed up/slow down.
The 3-D ships came from this site: http://www.st-intelligence.com so I should probably get permission before they go into the theme.
Right panel may still need some work. And, of course, I'll put this animation into the #2 theme after I get some opinions.
K700 questions: Do the animations that loop "forever" wear down the battery? (if so, the number of loops can be changed) How long does the phone play until it goes on standby?

Can you animate the top part? I always heard the background (middle area) is the only part that animates.

You, and all other themers should try to reduce the size of the animated gif's. The image can easily be reduced to 10% of the size without losing any quality. Take a look at the two images and notice the size difference:

Here is a 1.59 MB version UPDATE: this file is 255 K now.To get it any smaller I'd have to reduce the number of frames or colors or take away some of the animated elements.
Maybe the theme should come with a very small animated background (like just the ST emblem and one ship), and if someone really wants the large version, they can download and set the image as their background. Would that work?
