Word has leaked out of the SPV c500, a new Microsoft Smartphone that European cell carrier Orange is going to introduce in July. Not much else is known, except that it looks like it’s smaller than the other phones in the SPV series, and like them is also made by Taiwanese manufacturer HTC.

From the MoDaCo site:-
We can also confirm that the device has built in BlueTooth, shares the same camera as the E200, and contains the OMAP 730 processor.
One exclusive little tidbit of information that's sure to get the arguments going... The SD/MMC slot is under the battery!
Just a thought!

Orange unwraps SPV C500 smartphone
Claiming the title of world's smallest smartphone, UK mobile network operator Orange unveils the Windows Mobile 2003 for Smartphone-based SPV C500, complete with bells and whistles.
At the World Handset Forum in Amsterdam today, Orange has announced the SPV C500: the latest addition to its line-up of smartphones based on Windows Mobile software. Claiming the C500 to be the world's smallest smartphone, the pan-European mobile network operator introduced the handset as part of its new line-up of Orange Signature phones, which all offer quick access to operator services.
Despite its minute size, the C500 offers advanced functionality
The SPV C500 weighs in at a mere 100 grams and measures a compact 10.8 x 4.6 x 1. 6 cm, yet offers a 16-bit colour display and several advanced connectivity options including Infrared, USB, Bluetooth and even a miniSD Card expansion slot. A whopping 64 MB of RAM is included, although it is not known how much of this will be available to users.
With GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz connectivity and GPRS, future owners of the C500 will be able to roam freely around the world without any major concern for lack of connectivity. The C500 will also offer the Second Edition version of Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 for Smartphone platform, announced in March this year. This will provide a native MMS client, as well as Home Screen soft key customization, improvements to voice dialling and more.
As with all Orange Signature phones, the SPV C500 offers an Orange experience containing several exclusive applications and services. A new home screen is present, as is the over-the-air Orange Backup solution, the Packet Video player and Orange Update, which allows customers to trial and download new applications such as ringtones, tube maps and games.
According to Orange, the C500 is to be launched in seven European countries - the UK, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, Poland, and Slovakia - starting this summer. Pricing details will be available upon launch.
