A British mobile phone network engineer has become the world's fastest texter.
James Trusler, 30, from Shoreham, West Sussex, beat his previous world text messaging record by nearly a minute on Australian TV to claim the prize.

I saw that on Newsround does he work for Vodafone because he was wearing a Vodafone shirt?

well he prob wasnt using a SE for sure--the 'text lag' is prob the most annoyin thing about my phone.

Can he do that (texting) w/out looking @ the keypads? Can he text while driving or having sex? i bet he couldnt.

i can text without looking at my phone. Even going into to menu's and text, with my phone in my pocket.

Me too. Its not so difficult. And my t610 has very little lag. T68 texting sucks big time.

If you read the BBC article, you will see that the record holder's weapon of choice is a SonyEricsson T630.

They showed him texting away on the UK news last week, and I can confirm that he was definitely using a white T630 (with T9 turned on)*. He used both hands simultaneously and did not look at the keypad whilst typing.

I guess the SonyEricsson SMS interface can't be quite as slow as some people claim if this chap is happy to use a T630.

*Note that the world record rules forbid the use of predictive texting.

i can do that in less then a second on my p800 using remote p800 and a "special" Technique called "Cut & Paste"
