Hello,
One thing I miss from other forums is the topic notification replies that usually are sent to my e-mail address. Surely, many people are browsing this site from their cellphones, on which notifications only would be a hassle, but I'd still like to have a checkbox in my preferences saying "notify me via e-mail on replies".
How about that?
Sincerely, Gabriel Lundmark |

this was last suggested about 2 months ago in this thread and nothing has changed since. The thread starter gets the option to Notify by email when replies are posted but thats all unfortunately

Im a member of another phpb based forum where this happens. You only get 1 reply until you visit the thread again. But if you bookmark the topic and the folder is red, it means its had a reply.

Pm would be more useful. Wapocalypse has this option.

It would be ok on smaller sites but some topics on esato run into pages and you could end up with hundreds of emails . I use brighthands forums and they gave this system and ht can be a pain deleting all the e mails and most topics on that dont get over 2 or 3 pages and you usually gave your answer by then

I use brighthand too and there is an option to unsubscribe from the notifications of a particular thread if it gets too much

I would suggest the possibility to choose between pm or email, to serve everybodies taste. Do hope we may enjoy the support of master @laffen.

I have to admit that it can get somewhat confusing when one is participating in several threads at once; some form of notification system would be most welcome indeed.

I really like the idea, especially that one with notification sent like pm,because i use wap a lot. But i think that there should be option to select do you want to be notified only with email or also by email.

I made a mistake. I wanted to say only with email or with email and/or private message :-)

You won't end up with flooded inboxes - as a user said earlier in this thread, you will only receive _one_ notification e-mail and not one for each reply.
Obviously though, if you receive a notification and check out the forum without deleting the notification, you will obviously have two of them the next time you check your inbox and somebody has replied.
